Frequently asked questions about MemoThings, FSRS, AI flashcards, and more.

How does the FSRS algorithm schedule my reviews?

FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) uses machine learning principles to model your personal memory. When you rate a flashcard as Again, Hard, Good, or Easy, FSRS updates 17 parameters and predicts when your recall probability will drop to your target retention rate (default 90%). It then schedules the next review at that exact moment — so you review exactly when needed, not earlier or later.

How many flashcard decks can I create?

Free users can create unlimited decks and flashcards. Premium users get additional features like advanced AI card generation with higher limits, detailed analytics, and priority support. Community decks are always free to import and study.

What content types do flashcards support?

MemoThings flashcards support rich content: formatted text, KaTeX math equations, images, and audio. You can mix multiple content types on the same card — for example, an image on the front and text + audio on the back.

Can I study offline?

No, MemoThings currently requires an internet connection to study. There is no offline mode available at this time.

Where do community decks come from?

Community decks are created and shared by MemoThings users worldwide. Topics range from English vocabulary and IELTS prep to programming, medical terminology, and law. Anyone can publish a deck to the community after it passes a basic quality check. You can also keep your decks private.

What study modes are available?

MemoThings offers 8 study modes: Review (traditional flashcards), Quiz (multiple choice), Typing (spelling & recall), Matching (pairs game), Speed Round, Listening (audio comprehension), True/False, and Fill in Blank. Each deck works with every mode — switch anytime.
